COMPUTER TESTING TECHNOLOGIES AS A MEANS OF EVALUATING THE LEARNING RESULTS OF STUDENTS OF THE SPECIALTY "SOCIO–CULTURAL ACTIVITIES"

Abstract

The article examines the organization of computer-based electronic testing of students majoring in 51.02.02 “Socio-Cultural Activities” in the section “Multimedia Technologies.” The main requirements for the development of the final examination test are described, including the quality of wording, sufficient task complexity, and the variety of question types. The assessment criteria are presented as follows: 85–100% of correct answers for an excellent grade, 75–84% for a good grade, 60–74% for a satisfactory grade, and less than 59% for an unsatisfactory grade. Special attention is paid to the use of freely distributed software, in particular the MyTest program, which makes it possible to include graphic, audio, and video objects in test tasks. It is shown that the use of adaptive testing at the preparatory stage increases the accuracy of knowledge diagnostics. The examination procedure combines 40 test questions with a practical task, which ensures a more comprehensive assessment of competencies. It is emphasized that electronic testing reduces the influence of the subjective factor, provides rapid processing of results, and allows scaling of the control procedure. Alternative approaches to assessing learning outcomes are also considered, including the analysis of students’ digital footprint and online proctoring in a distance format. It is concluded that testing should be combined with practical tasks, since a linear test does not provide an exhaustive view of actual preparedness. A comprehensive approach to assessment increases students’ confidence in the evaluation procedure and stimulates their independent educational activity.
